FPPOA Strategic Plan

Federal Probation and Pretrial Officers Association is 70 years of age and is the sole representative association dedicated exclusively for staff working in Federal Probation and Pretrial Services. FPPOA strives to support U.S. Probation and Pretrial Services Officers and Staff through Advocacy, Communication, Education, and Safety and Wellness Initiatives.

FPPOA would like your views on how we are doing as an organization and on priorities in the federal probation and pretrial system. This will inform a strategic planning effort that guides the work of FPPOA for the next three to five years. By completing this survey, your views will be collected and heard by the FPPOA Board and considered in making strategic planning decisions and setting priorities.

FPPOA is seeking a Western Region President!

This position oversees FPPOA activities in a number of states/districts in the Western area of the United States, to include Alaska, Hawaii, California, Oregon, Washington, Arizona, Colorado, Montana, Idaho, Utah, Nevada, Guam, and Wyoming. As a Region President, you will collaborate with a diverse group of board member and includes some out-of-district travel and monthly TEAMS meetings; therefore, please obtain your Chief’s permission before applying.

If you are interested in this position, please email a letter/statement of interest no later than May 30, 2025, to Amy Denise Kord @ amy_kord@nmp.uscourts.gov. The letter should include a biography with your tenure in the Probation/Pretrial Services division, your history of FPPOA membership, previous professional experience, past and present professional affiliations, professional recognitions/awards, and community activities. Please also provide a statement, approximately one page in length, regarding your views on current issues affecting the U.S. Probation System and FPPOA, and any proposals/ideas you would like to see implemented.

FPPOA is now over 60 years of age and is the sole representative association dedicated exclusively for staff working in Federal Probation and Pretrial Services. As part of FPPOA's commitment to the Federal Probation and Pretrial Services, we hope that this site is able to provide you with all the information that fits your professional needs. From the outset, the Association has been a major influence in the growth and direction of the Federal Probation and Pretrial Services System. During its early years, the Association contributed to the establishment of an improved, standardized salary plan, influenced a needed increase in the number of officers and served a major function in assuring qualification of officers for hazardous duty retirement.
